What Etsy charges sellers
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price plus shipping.
- Payment processing: a percentage plus a fixed amount that depends on the country of your bank account, for example 3% + 0.25 USD in the United States.
- Listing fee: 0.20 USD each time a listing is published or renewed.
- Offsite Ads: 15% of the order on sales that come through Etsy’s ads, or 12% for shops with 10,000 USD or more in sales over 365 days, capped at 100 USD per order.
- Currency conversion: 2.5% when your listing currency differs from your payment account’s.
How the fees add up
On a $25.00 item with $5.00 shipping, a US seller pays $3.30 in fees, which is 11% of the order. The same order through a Ukrainian payment account costs $4.25 because processing is 6% + 0.30 USD. If the sale came through Offsite Ads, fees rise to $7.80. The figures are small per order and large across a year, which is why it pays to know them before you price.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to sell on Etsy?
Per sale you pay a 6.5% transaction fee and a payment processing fee, plus 0.20 USD when a listing is published or renewed. Offsite Ads adds a percentage only on orders that come through those ads.
Do Etsy fees apply to shipping?
Yes. The transaction fee and the processing percentage are charged on the item price plus shipping, and the processing percentage also covers tax the buyer pays.
Are fees different for sellers outside the US?
Payment processing depends on the country of your bank account. For example Ukrainian accounts pay a higher processing rate than US ones. Pick your country in any of the calculators.
Where do these rates come from?
From Etsy’s own fee and payment processing pages, linked on each calculator with the date they were last checked.
Can I trust the results for my shop?
They are estimates from published rates. Etsy can change fees and some charges, such as VAT on fees, are not included. Confirm against your payment account statement.
