How much does TikTok Shop take?
In the US, TikTok Shop charges sellers one referral fee per completed order. TikTok describes it as covering all TikTok Shop fees except shipping and tax, so there is no separate payment processing or listing fee.
- Most categories: 6% of the order.
- Fine jewelry (diamond, gold, jade, platinum and carat gold, ruby, sapphire and emerald): 5%.
- Pre-owned goods: 5%, and 3% on any part of a sale above $10,000.
- The fee is charged on what the customer pays plus any platform-funded discount, minus tax. Shipping paid by the customer is included.
Worked examples
A $30.00 item with free shipping, costing $10.00 to make and $5.00 to ship, pays a referral fee of $1.80 and nets $13.20. If the buyer pays $5.00 for shipping, the fee is charged on $35.00 and comes to $2.10.
If the same sale comes through a creator on a 15% affiliate commission, the creator earns $4.50 and your profit falls to $8.70. On sales driven by affiliates, the affiliate commission is usually a bigger cost than TikTok’s own fee.
Refunds and returns
When an order is refunded, TikTok returns the referral fee minus a refund administration fee of 20% of that fee, capped at $5 per SKU. On a $10.00 item that is $0.12. No admin fee is charged on eligible cancellations before shipping or on “buy now, refund later” creator sample orders.

- Sales tax, which TikTok collects and pays on your behalf where required.
- Fulfilled by TikTok storage and fulfillment fees, and the cost of TikTok Shop Ads.
- Promotional rates for new sellers, which depend on your onboarding offer. Enter your own rate in the advanced settings if Seller Center shows a different one.
