TikTok Shop Fees 2026: How Much TikTok Shop Takes From Sellers

TikTok Shop charges US sellers one fee: a referral fee of 6% per order in most categories. Fine jewelry and pre-owned goods pay 5%. TikTok says this fee covers all TikTok Shop fees except shipping and tax, so there is no separate payment processing fee, listing fee or monthly subscription. On a $30 order TikTok Shop takes $1.80.

That makes TikTok Shop one of the cheapest places to sell in the US on paper. In practice, the affiliate commission you pay creators is often a bigger cost than TikTok’s own fee. Below is every TikTok Shop seller fee from TikTok Shop Academy’s official US pages (category table revised October 8, 2026), with real examples.

How much does TikTok Shop take?

TikTok Shop takes 6% of each completed order in almost every US category. Out of 206 category lines in TikTok’s official table, 189 are at 6%. The exceptions are five fine jewelry sub-categories (diamond, gold, jade, platinum and carat gold, ruby, sapphire and emerald) and pre-owned goods, which pay 5%.

The fee is charged on what the customer pays plus any discount TikTok funds, minus tax:

Referral fee = rate × (customer payment + platform discount − tax)

Two details change the number more than people expect:

• Shipping counts. If the buyer pays $4.99 for shipping on a $20 item, the 6% is charged on $24.99, so the fee is $1.50 rather than $1.20.
• Your own discounts lower the fee. A seller-funded discount reduces what the customer pays, so you pay 6% on the discounted price. A discount TikTok pays for is added back, so it does not lower your fee.

Does TikTok Shop charge fees beyond the referral fee?

Not from TikTok itself. TikTok Shop’s fee policy describes the referral fee as one that “encompasses all TikTok Shop fees, with the exception of shipping and tax”. There is no monthly subscription, no listing fee and no separate payment processing fee in the US. Sales tax is collected and paid by TikTok where required, and payouts reach your bank account after delivery once the balance passes $1.

The costs that do add up are the ones you choose or cause:

• Affiliate commission to creators who sell your product in videos and lives.
• Shipping, if you offer free shipping or ship yourself.
• Ads through TikTok Shop Ads, if you run them.
• Fulfilled by TikTok fees, if TikTok stores and ships your stock.
• Refunds: TikTok returns the referral fee on a refunded order but keeps 20% of it, up to $5 per SKU.

TikTok Shop affiliate commission

Affiliate commission is the share of the sale you pay a creator who sells your product through a video, a live or a showcase. You set the rate yourself in Affiliate Center, either open to all creators or as targeted offers to specific ones. Our calculator applies it to the item price after your discount, without shipping.

Because creators choose what to promote, sellers in competitive categories such as beauty and fashion often offer 10–20%. Before you raise your rate, check that the product still makes money: at a 6% referral fee and a 20% commission, TikTok and the creator together take 26% of the price before your costs.

TikTok Shop is the cheapest of the four on marketplace fees alone. The trade-off is that sales on TikTok depend far more on content and creators, so your real cost per sale is the referral fee plus whatever you spend on affiliates and ads. Is the TikTok Shop fee 8% now?

Several seller guides reported that TikTok raised the standard US referral fee from 6% to 8% in August 2026. TikTok Shop Academy’s official US category table, revised on October 8, 2026, still lists 6% for most categories, and we have not found an official TikTok announcement of an 8% rate. How to keep more of each TikTok Shop sale

• Price for the affiliate commission, not just the referral fee, if creators drive most of your sales.
• Bundle products so shipping and packaging are spread over a larger order.
• Check your category: fine jewelry and pre-owned goods pay 5% instead of 6%.
• Reduce refunds: clear sizing and photos cut returns, and every refund costs you 20% of the referral fee.
• Use seller-funded discounts carefully: they lower the fee, but they lower your revenue by more.
