Depop Fees 2026: What Depop Takes From Sellers

Depop seller fees for 2026: no selling fee in the US, 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing, the 12% Boost fee, examples and Depop vs Poshmark and eBay.

Depop fees 2026: a $40 sale with $6 shipping, $1.97 payment processing and a $44.03 payout

Depop selling fees are simple in the US: there is no selling fee. What you pay on every sale is payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45, charged on the item price plus shipping and sales tax. If the item sold through a Boosted listing, Depop also takes a 12% boosting fee. On a $40 item with $6 shipping, Depop takes $1.97 and $44.03 reaches your bank account.

That makes Depop one of the cheapest places to resell clothes in the US, but only if you understand when Boost kicks in. Below is every Depop seller fee for 2026, taken from Depop’s own seller fee page, with worked examples and a comparison with Poshmark, Whatnot and eBay.

Does Depop have seller fees?

Not a selling fee. Depop dropped its 10% selling fee for US sellers in July 2024, and sellers in the UK and Australia have no selling fee either. Since then Depop makes money in two other ways: a marketplace fee that buyers pay at checkout, and the boosting fee that sellers pay only when they choose to promote a listing.

What sellers still pay on every order is payment processing. It is not a Depop commission but the cost of taking the buyer’s payment through Depop Payments, and Depop deducts it before your money is paid out.

How much does Depop take from a sale?

Without Boost, only the processing fee. Here is what Depop takes at common prices, with no shipping charged:

Item priceDepop feeShare of priceWith Boost (12%)
$10$0.787.8%$1.98
$25$1.285.1%$4.28
$50$2.104.2%$8.10
$100$3.753.8%$15.75
$200$7.053.5%$31.05

The fixed $0.45 makes cheap items relatively more expensive to sell: on a $10 item it is almost half the fee. Bundling several cheap pieces into one order spreads that fixed part. Enter your own price, shipping and costs in the Depop fee calculator below.

The Depop payment processing fee

For US sellers using Depop Payments, the processing fee is 3.3% + $0.45 per transaction. It is charged on the full amount the buyer pays: the item price, the shipping and any sales tax Depop collects. So shipping you charge does increase your fee slightly:

  • $40 item, no shipping: $40 × 3.3% + $0.45 = $1.77
  • $40 item + $6 shipping: $46 × 3.3% + $0.45 = $1.97

Sales tax works the same way: Depop collects and remits it, but the 3.3% is still applied to it. If the buyer pays $3 in tax on that order, your fee rises by about $0.10. Our calculator has a sales tax field in the advanced settings if you want to include it.

The Depop boosting fee

Boosted listings are Depop’s paid promotion. You pay nothing to switch Boost on: the fee is charged only if a boosted listing sells. For US sellers the boosting fee is 12% of the item price for listings boosted from 23 March 2026. Before that date it was 8%, so older guides that still say 8% are out of date.

Twelve percent is a big jump from a 3–4% processing fee. On a $50 item a boosted sale costs $8.10 in total instead of $2.10. That is worth paying when Boost brings a sale you would not have made, for example on a slow-moving item or during a busy period. It is not worth it on items that already sell quickly at your price.

A simple rule: if a boosted item would otherwise need a 12% price cut to sell, Boost and a price cut cost you about the same. Boost keeps your price higher for buyers who would have paid it anyway, so it is only better when it reaches buyers you would not reach otherwise.

If a sale is refunded, Depop reverses all of its fees, including payment processing and the boosting fee.

What the buyer pays

Buyers on Depop pay a marketplace fee at checkout of up to 5% of the item price plus a fixed amount of up to $1, excluding tax and shipping. This fee goes to Depop and does not come out of your payout, but buyers see it in their total. If you price close to a competitor on another app, remember the buyer’s total on Depop is slightly higher than your listed price.

How Depop fees compare with other resale apps

The same $50 item, no shipping, standard rates in the US:

PlatformHow it chargesFee on $50You keep
Depop3.3% + $0.45 processing$2.10$47.90
Whatnot8% commission + 2.9% + $0.30 processing$5.75$44.25
eBay13.6% final value fee + $0.40 per order$7.20$42.80
Poshmark20% on sales of $15 and up$10.00$40.00

Depop is clearly the cheapest on fees alone. Only a boosted sale ($8.10 on a $50 item) costs a little more than eBay. Poshmark is the most expensive, though its fee covers the shipping label the buyer pays for. Check any price on the Depop fee calculator, the Poshmark fee calculator, the Whatnot fee calculator or the eBay fee calculator, or compare all of them in the resale app calculators.

How to keep more of each Depop sale

  • Use Boost selectively. Boost slow items and new drops, not pieces that already get offers.
  • Bundle cheap items. The $0.45 fixed fee is charged per transaction, so one $30 bundle costs less in fees than three $10 sales.
  • Price shipping honestly. Shipping is part of the processing base, so overcharging for it adds a little to your fee and makes the listing less attractive.
  • Count the real costs. What you paid for the item, the label and packaging matter far more than Depop’s fee. Put them into the calculator to see your actual profit.
